At 11.59pm I picked up the phone, dialled in your number and waited. As soon as it hit 12am, I pressed call. It rang once *brr brr* - the butterflies in my tummy were going insane, the thought of hearing your voice made me weak. I didn't know what I was going to say to you after 'happy birthday', I just wanted to hang up. It rang twice *brr brr* I hoped that maybe you were asleep and that you weren't gonna pick up, and then you did. Tears filled my eyes as soon as I heard your voice:

Wow, I haven't spoken to you in so long!
You don't even know who it is..
Of course I know who it is, I can always tell by your manly ogre voice

I'm amazed, you're the first one to wish me happy birthday

How have you been?
I stayed silent as the tears ran down my face, I lied and told you everything was fine. When all I wanted to do was tell you that I've been drowning since the day you left. I asked you how you were and you told me your life had been shit, the only thing I wanted to do right then and there was just hold you and take care of you like you had done for me.
You are one of the most dearest and most cherished friend in my whole life and even though you let me go, I would never give up on you. I'm glad that even though we hadn't spoken to each other this whole year, we both still knew that we could depend on each other. That is what true friendship is even after all the shit that we've been though. I didn't even have to try and find it in my heart to forgive you for what you did because you are apart of me. You will always be my best friend and I love you ♥
